What's the difference between an aluminum pole and a steel pole? Does one require painting more frequently?

A. The Sea Gull Lighting 82029 is a Traditional / Classic Post Light. Steel pole will be more sturdy compared to the aluminum. But as far as appearance goes, aluminum looks nicer.Depending on the type of weather you live in would determine how much care you would have to put into your lamp posts.
