Please explain the difference between up lighting & down lighting, specifically what is dark sky?
A. The Sea Gull Lighting 91166 is a Dark Sky light which means that there is not "light pollution". Some areas have laws that exterior lighting cannot be pointed up or out so that people wanting to live in a darker environment don't have light from surrounding lights interfering with their view.
Since the shade on this light makes the light only point down it is a down light. Lights where the shades point up are up lights.
